About Us

Providing Students Arts Opportunities

The Jagaur Athenaeum is a student-led magazine that focuses on college and career readiness in the arts. Based out of Carrboro High, NC, it is created by the members of the club of the same name. Born from a desire to have one place to know about arts events, activities, and tips dedicated just to high school students, the Athenaeum hopes to become a local staple of Carrboro, and beyond.

Who We Help

The Athenaeum helps three groups of people.

1) The club members, by teaching them life skills, publishing standards, and getting them used to working in a team format on collaborative and innovative work about what they are passionate about, regardless of whether the wish to pursue the arts or not.

2) Carrboro High Students, by giving them exclusive advice and tips and tricks on the arts (written, visual, performative) that are are built to be sustainable so that the issues will only become more effective as club alumni graduate and go on to interview and help students, creating an arts network right out of Carrboro.

3) Anyone wishing they had their own Athenaeum, by providing the templates, meeting notes, timelines, resources and more completely free to any who wishes to adapt them in their own communities.
